Middle East

Gaza Strip

OCHA oPt (UN/humanitarian) reported that 30 Palestinians were killed and 134 injured between 22 and 29 July. It attributed a cumulative post-ceasefire total of 1,209 fatalities and 3,943 injuries to Gaza's Ministry of Health, while cautioning that reported casualty figures awaiting United Nations verification remain attributed to their source.

The same OCHA update projected that 67 per cent of Gaza's population would face IPC Phase 3 or worse from July through December 2026. Separately, UNRWA (UN agency) recorded Ministry of Health figures, as reported through the Health Cluster, of 73,231 Palestinians killed and 173,686 injured through 12 July; the differing reference dates should not be conflated.

West Bank

OCHA oPt (UN/humanitarian) reported that, as of 20 July, 18 Palestinians had been killed in incidents linked to settler attacks in 2026, exceeding the 17 recorded in all of 2025. It also recorded about 880 Palestinians injured in the context of settler attacks since the start of 2026 and more than 1,330 settler incidents across 250 communities.

UN News (UN agency), citing OCHA's latest casualty data, reported 1,122 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, between October 2023 and 24 July 2026, including 76 since the beginning of 2026. OCHA's public casualty page describes regular field collection and verification for West Bank data; a matching cumulative injury total was not exposed in the consulted public static sources.

Lebanon

UN News (UN agency) reported a marked reduction in heavy fighting following the ceasefire between Beirut and Tel Aviv, but continued ceasefire violations and clashes. UNIFIL said it was recording Resolution 1701 violations daily and continued to treat the Blue Line as the relevant reference line.

In a 17 July Security Council briefing, UNSCOL (UN agency) referred to continuing Israeli military activity on Lebanese territory, widespread devastation and displacement, and the 26 June Lebanon–Israel–United States Trilateral Framework. The sources support a description of reduced violence amid unresolved security and recovery risks, not a final settlement.

Iran–US

UN News (UN agency) reported continuing military escalation between Iran and the United States on 17 July, including attacks affecting civilian and military infrastructure across the Gulf and disruption to commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. It relayed the Secretary-General's call for a peaceful, durable settlement and restoration of navigational rights.

UN Meetings Coverage (UN agency) recorded a fragile ceasefire under renewed strain and indirect talks in Doha. The Security Council account also documented sharply competing claims by the parties and regional governments; those claims remain attributed rather than independently adjudicated in this report.

Eastern Europe

Russia–Ukraine Conflict

OHCHR's Ukraine monitoring mission (UN agency) verified at least 293 civilians killed and 1,990 injured across Ukraine in June 2026, including 1,396 killed and 7,978 injured in the first six months of the year. It stated that 2,226 civilian casualties occurred in Government-controlled territory and 57 in territory occupied by the Russian Federation during June, but did not publicly disaggregate killed and injured figures by territory.

For Russia, United Nations in Ukraine / OHCHR (UN agency) relayed Russian authorities' claim of 250 civilians killed and 1,596 injured on Russian territory from Ukrainian strikes in the first half of 2026. That reported claim is identified as such; it is not a UN verification.

Africa

Sudan

ACLED (conflict-data provider) reported more than 50 drone strikes in North Kordofan in June, with more than 110 reported fatalities, as fighting continued around Sheikan and routes toward El Obeid. In North Darfur, ACLED separately recorded 63 fatalities across Tina, Karnoi and Um Baru localities since June and described attacks, burning and displacement affecting communities near the Chad border.

A UK Home Office (Western government) note citing ACLED placed recorded combined civilian and combatant fatalities at 52,904 through June 2026 and cited IOM estimates of 8.9 million internally displaced people as of March. It explicitly cautioned that fatality data are indicative undercounts, so no false-precision nationwide total is asserted here.

Asia

Myanmar

OCHA (UN/humanitarian) reported more than 16 million people in need nationwide, nearly 3.8 million displaced, and more than 100,000 newly displaced in Magway. By mid-July, only 43 per cent of the US$890 million humanitarian requirement was funded.

Data Friendly Space (regional outlet) described continuing clashes across several regions and estimated overall displacement above 5.3 million when neighbouring countries are included. UNHCR's operational data portal (UN agency) listed 3,961,700 internally displaced persons as of its 20 July update; differing totals reflect distinct datasets and reference points.
